Super capacitors (battery boosters, ultracapicitors) are a revolutionary new product used to enhance renewable energy battery systems. Packaged in containers that standard battery products are typically found in, these devices are high density (super) capacitors that are rated in kilo joules. They are very simple devices that are capable of storing a huge amount of energy, can be cycled thousands of times and have a lifespan in excess of 20 years.

Typical batteries (with the exception of lithium-ion) have a relatively high internal impedance (resistance), thereby limiting the amount of energy that can be pulled from the battery in a short period of time. Supercapacitor, has a very low internal impedance, which when combined with the high energy storage density, can provide short periods of high energy on demand.

 

The KA Power nickel carbon supercapacitor Battery Booster solves the peak demand problem of high starting loads resulting from a weak, discharged or undersized   battery bank. It is permanently installed and used in parallel with your existing  battery bank providing the energy pulse (boost) demanded by high starting loads (motors, refrigeration, AC, etc) . It quickly recharges itself (usually in less than 30 seconds) allowing repetitive peak demands to be supported.
